Guangzhou Langtian New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. Founded in 2012, Langtian New Energy is a high-end smart equipment company integrating R&D, production, and sales of new energy lithium batteries, solid-state batteries and sodium-ion batteries.
'The core back-end process is the “last mile” of lithium battery production, which has direct impact on the battery’s consistency, safety, and lifespan.' According to Fei Jialiang, board chair of Langtian New Energy, traditional formation and grading equipment has long been plagued by “inaccurate measurement, slow matching, and uneven control”, which means frequent damped oscillations of charge and discharge current, high surges, slow shutdown speed, and lack of flexibility in mechanical regulation methods, resulting in overstated battery capacity, reduced cycle life, and even safety risks. This directly limits the quality ceiling of high-end battery manufacturing in China.
To break through this bottleneck, Langtian New Energy, with eyes fixed on the new energy lithium battery equipment, has continuously increased investment in R&D and core technology team building, and launched a R&D project to develop “impact-free adaptive intelligent formation and grading technology and equipment.”
'In tackling the technology problem, we worked on both the underlying algorithms and hardware architecture, and managed to control the voltage stability to an ultra-high range of ±0.02% FS. It's like equipping the battery with a “voltage stabilizer,” making the current output as smooth as a calm lake,' said Fei Jialiang.
The successful implementation of this new technology has broken foreign technology monopolies and has become a powerful engine for the company’s leapfrog development. It completely solves the problem of “inaccurate measurement, slow matching, and uneven control” for the industry, and has created during the process a series engineering demonstration achievements suitable for national promotion, including method for uninterrupted current switching between steps of the same type, and method for current curve control of a constant-voltage power supply, which not only greatly improves China's technological autonomy in the global field of lithium battery back-end manufacturing equipment but also builds a solid technical moat for Langtian in a fiercely competitive market.
